Founded in 1978, the Blazers Ski Club is an alliance of skiers, snowboarders and skiing enthusiasts in the metropolitan Philadelphia area. We promote skiing as a recreational activity for minority groups, recruit and train youth in skiing techniques, and promote skiing competition for Olympic development of minority skiers. The club is affiliated with the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS) and serves to provide development opportunities for skiers and snowboarders of ALL ages and abilities. Though primarily a winter club, we proudly host activities year round including travel and social events.

Learn to ski/board program (temporarily unavailable)

The Blazers Ski Club, Inc. prides itself on providing the opportunity for African Americans to learn and enjoy the sport of skiing. Our Development Program covers children from age four to seventeen and adults. Both children and adults take their lessons at the same ski resort; this enables families to be together but learn skiing with their own age group.

The Adult Development Program of the Blazers Ski Club, Inc. is an introduction for adults who have never skied, provides lessons for previous skiers who may have stopped skiing sometime ago, and assists current skiers who are looking to practice or improve their current skills. The goal of the Adult Development Program is to prepare beginner and seasoned skiers with good skiing skills and techniques for exciting weekend or week long ski trips.

This is a scheduled program occurring on selected Saturdays beginning in January. Travel is on a deluxe motor coach leaving at approximately 6:00 AM from Monument and Stout Roads, (Philadelphia. College of Osteopathic Medicine Parking Lot) and returning at approximately 6:00 PM. This program takes place in the Pocono Mountains and runs from January through March; rental ski equipment is included when needed. Lessons cover snowboarding or skiing.

Not sure what to wear? Here's a list of the basics.
